‘Cut back just a touch’
The North American version Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers will have less voice acting than its Japanese counterpart. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though. According to Atlus USA, the slight reduction in content has resulted in a better final product.
Apparently every “map” non-player character in the Japanese version of the game was voiced by the same two voice actors, something that didn’t sit too well with the localization team. The lines were consequently dropped from the western release to improve the quality of the experience and reduce overhead costs. Sometimes less is more, I guess.
