Devolver Digital wants to help make a Sifl & Olly game

It’s almost the end of the show

I remember watching Sifl & Olly as a kid and not understanding what the hell was going on. It made me laugh and that was enough. Now that I’m older and my brain has started rotting, it feels more poignant than ever. I’ve been binge watching the earlier bits from its original run on MTV all morning, and I can’t believe I’ve waited this long to finally revisit it.

Whether singing to a child about how they want to turn their dead pet turtle’s shell into a belt buckle or cruising around in their car and belting out the words to “Just What I Needed” by The Cars, these two sock puppets feel like they were tailor-made for me.

What provoked this recent surge in personal relevancy you ask? Well, the lovable scamps over at Devolver Digital posted a list of licenses that they’d like to work with on Twitter last night, and Liam Lynch, one of the shows creators, responded eagerly stating that they were down to clown. While this certainly doesn’t mean anything concrete yet, it wouldn’t be the first time that Devolver has fostered a business relationship in this manner.

I have no idea what a Sifl & Olly video game would even look like, but I’m into this. Please, let this be a thing that actually exists one day. While you’re at it, Mr. Lynch, I’d love to have the option to properly purchase the series’ first two seasons in their original format. It’s a goddamn shame that it’s so difficult to view them without resorting to YouTube or less savory means.
