Looking forward to Diablo III this year? Have you always been so optimistic? Following the release of the game’s beta, Blizzard has decided the long-craved roleplaying game won’t be ready in 2011, and has confirmed an “early 2012” date.
Note that Blizzard has never officially slated the game for 2011, it was simply hoping to release this year. It’s not so much a delay as a case of Blizzard giving up on a very admirable goal.
Blizzard hopes this won’t damage its previously “sterling record of always hitting its release targets,” and while fans will be disappointed, it’s good to know that time’s being taken to make things better. I will always rather have a game that’s developed properly as opposed to a rushed product.
