To Hell with It
Blizzard Entertainment has announced that it will hold beta tests this March from its grim-looking dungeon-crawler Diablo IV this March. The grim ‘n’ gothic sequel is currently scheduled to launch June 6 on PC and consoles.
The beta, confirmed during this weekend’s IGN Fan Fest, will be live across all platforms and will allow players to battle through most of the sequel’s first act, set within the locale of “Fractured Peaks”. All character classes are available to play up to a level cap of 25, and most of the main quests and side objectives will be included in the beta. It sounds similar to the beta test for Diablo III, which was held back in the spring of 2012 and offered up the same experience and limitations.
Players who pre-order Diablo IV will receive early access to the beta for the weekend of March 17-19. The beta will be fully opened up to the public on the following weekend, March 24-26. Progress from the closed beta will carry through to the open beta. You can check out full details on what to expect from this trial over on the official Blizzard website. Additionally, the publisher released the cinematic intro movie for the sequel, which you can check out above.
