Switch port by Panic Button
Announced today at TennoCon (an annual Warframe convention), Digital Extremes is partnering with developer Panic Button to bring the hit co-op, sci-fi, third-person shooter Warframe to the Switch. Another feat of technical prowess, the game will retain all of its content in the jump to Nintendo’s hybrid device. There isn’t much in the way of actual gameplay footage (the trailer is a mock-up), but here is a teaser to whet your appetite for the final thing.
Along with that news, Warframe is also set to receive another open-world update. Titled Warframe: Fortuna, this latest expansion will be the second massive area that Warframe has. Fortuna will feature a hoverboard that will let players zip across the environment and a more vertical focus on level structure.
If that news wasn’t enough, another expansion will be hitting Warframe later in the year called Codename: Railjack. Digital Extremes is claiming this expansion will have seamless transitions between on-foot action and space combat, which sounds pretty damned exciting. Railjack will be a smaller scale, four player arena focused on a spacecraft. It sounds similar to a horde mode, just in space.
