My children deserve to see me get a free gift…
Publisher Nexon has opened pre-orders on its funky-looking fighter DNF Duel. Interested pugilists can now pre-order a physical copy of the game on PS4 and PS5 platforms ahead of its official June 28 launch. DNF Duel is also available on PC (via Steam) but pre-orders are yet to be activated for that platform. Customers who pre-order the physical release on PlayStation will earn a non-disclosed “free gift,” while digital pre-orders will also gain early access.
As a quick refresher for a title we have written about many, many times, DNF Duel is a one-on-one fighter based upon the Korean MMO Dungeon Fighter Online. Players pick from a colorful roster of characters, based on DFO‘s wide variety of classes, before duking it out in explosive combat, featuring fists, feet, an array of gnarly weaponry, and some devastating elemental abilities.
Over the course of the past 12 months, Nexon has rolled out trailers for the entire cast, as well as two beta tests to initialize DNF Duel‘s rollback netcode. Developed by fighting game enthusiasts Arc System Works and Eighting, the new title is suitably attractive from an audio/visual standpoint and, at this early stage, seems equally cool from a gameplay perspective. Hopefully, DNF Duel can find its niche within the crowded fighting game market. Perhaps the upcoming EVO 2022 tournament will afford an opportunity for the game to strut its stuff in a side tourney. DNF Duel is also heading up Arc World Tour 2022.
DNF Duel launches June 28 on PlayStation and PC. In the meantime, be sure to check out the character trailers for Berserker, Grappler, Hitman, Inquisitor, Striker, Ranger, Dragon Knight, Vanguard, Kunoichi, Crusader, and Ghostblade.
