One of the joys we can experience in this age of cloud servers is continuing game progress between two or more platforms via cross-progression. Xbox Game Pass, for example, has plenty of games that let you go from the office to the living room, or vice versa, without missing a narrative beat. But not every game offers such a feature. Apex Legends has been popular across all systems, but can you enjoy it via cross-progression?
To clarify, cross-progression means being able to play a game and continue your progress on other devices. With some games, you can begin your story on the PC and then move to the Xbox Series X. I typically do it when the night is approaching and my butt demands the comfort of my soft couch.
You can make a cross-progression account in Apex Legends
Apex Legends received cross-progression in Season 19 of the game. The feature rolled out for all players, who soon received invitations to transform their usual account into a cross-progression account. Once merged, the change is permanent. In other words, you can play Apex Legends on your PC or Xbox, and the progress you make will remain the same. If you have multiple accounts, they’ll be merged into your highest-level account.
There could be some potential issues with the merger, as noted by EA. According to the publisher, you may “lose some content” after you move to the cross-progression account. Any gameplay-focused content you lose will need to be re-earned by playing the game. If you lose content earned outside of gameplay, EA will “try to add it back to your account in the future.” If you do end up with missing items, the publisher has launched a help page to try and get everyone sorted.
