The full release of Disney Dreamlight Valley is here, meaning the adventure life-sim is no longer in Early Access. Typically games like this are best experienced with friends and often enjoyed across different platforms. So does Disney Dreamlight Valley have cross-play and cross-progression? Let’s take a look!
Is there cross-play in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
This question sort of has two answers. Disney Dreamlight Valley does in fact support cross-play, however, it is not supported on PlayStation platforms. According to developer Gameloft, due to platform restrictions, the PlayStation version of the game does not support cross-platform play.
Because of this restriction, if you want to play Disney Dreamlight Valley with a friend who is on PlayStation, you will also need to play on a PlayStation. However, if you are on PC, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch, you can utilize cross-play to play with those on other platforms.
With cross-play, you can invite other players to your Valley or visit the Valley of your friends as long as you have their multiplayer code.
Does Disney Dreamlight Valley have cross-progression?
Actually, the answer is pretty much the same as cross-play. There is in fact cross-progression in Disney Dreamlight Valley, but not on PlayStation. You can cross-progress between PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. This means if you are playing on a PlayStation version of the game, your progress will only ever be on PlayStation.
However, if you are playing on any of the other platforms, you can access your account and cross-progress on any other platform as long as it’s not a PlayStation one.
Unfortunately, it’s not likely this will change. It really comes down to platform-specific policies, and for whatever reason, Disney Dreamlight Valley opted to not include PlayStation. If this changes at any point in the future we will update this article accordingly.
