Does Palworld have Shinies? Answered and explained

Gotta catch em all

Does Palworld have shinies

The clearly Pokemon-inspired Palworld is right around the corner. In just a few days, players will be able to explore the world of Palworld and catch their own Pals then use them for their bidding including gathering, crafting, and even fighting. With all the similarities with Pokemon, it’s understandable to wonder: does Palworld have Shinies? Here’s what we know about the possibility for rare Shiny Pals in Palworld.

Are there Shiny Pals in Palworld?

According to Dot Esports, Palworld features its own varied system for handling Shinies. In Palworld, you can come across bigger and stronger Pals called Alpha Pals, as well as special Pals that have size mutations and are covered in light called Lucky Pals. According to Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe, Lucky Pals are essentially more ferocious versions of regular Pals. If the player can catch them, they can be powerful allies.

Even though Palworld still has a few days until release, some streamers have gained early access to the game. According to those who have played, Shinies are in fact in Palworld, but it’s hard to tell if people are seeing Lucky Pals, Alpha Pals, or some new variant of Pals that represent Shinies. Either way, it appears the Shinies may be quite rare in Palworld.

How rare are Shinies in Palworld?

We don’t know exactly how rare Shinies are going to be in Palworld. However, content creator CurtisBuilds mentioned that in about 30 hours of gameplay, he had encountered three Shinies in total. That makes them pretty rare! Hopefully, they aren’t so rare that some players never see them but are rare enough that it truly feels special to find and catch them.

Now that we know Palworld does have Shinies, I can only hope some of the bigger Alpha Pals have a Shiny variant as well.
