Dr. Phil to record show on violent videogames: Collective eyes roll

Recommended Videos

Oh, this ought to be good. Dr. Phil, the same twat who thinks that unhappy couples should stay together for the sake of kids who will become traumatized by their constant fighting is to record an episode of his awful show all about our favorite hobby and the violence inherent within. While we don’t know quite how bad he’s going to demonize videogames, Game Politics reminds us of the loudmouth’s dangerous and uneducated opinion following the Virginia Tech shootings, as recording on The Larry King Show:

DR. PHIL: …the problem is we are programming these people as a society. You cannot tell me – common sense tells you that if these kids are playing video games, where they’re on a mass killing spree in a video game, it’s glamorized on the big screen, it’s become part of the fiber of our society. You take that and mix it with a psychopath, a sociopath or someone suffering from mental illness and add in a dose of rage, the suggestibility is too high.

And we’re going to have to start dealing with that. We’re going to have to start addressing those issues and recognizing that the mass murders of tomorrow are the children of today that are being programmed with this massive violence overdose.

Yep … so this going to be a fair, intelligent and open-minded episode, isn’t it? Just like everything Dr. Phil involves himself with. I’m sure that there’ll be no opinions pulled from deep within one’s ass on this ‘debate’, especially since Philly Boy has procured a “game violence specialist” to appear on the show. Oh, I wonder who that could be …

I wonder.
