‘…hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home’
While this trailer features the same footage we glanced at in the Japanese overview trailer, it helps to get subtitles and a clearer picture of what exactly is going on in Dragon Ball FighterZ‘ story mode.
Shout out to community member Ricky Namara who figured out the player was somehow in Goku’s body and leaping from character to character, because that’s exactly the situation here. In this story, players will be “linked” to the minds of Goku and the other Z Warriors (who’ve begun mysteriously fainting), and players will even hold conversations when sharing their body. With three mini-arcs to explore, and with Android 21 taking advantage of all the confusion, this is going to be another crazy fighting game story mode. Even if it turns out to be a trash fire, I’m all in.
Dragon Ball FighterZ hits PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC January 26.
