Nintendo really seems to be pulling out all the stops this E3, with a slew of first-party titles being announced. Now we can add Metroid to the growing list of games with a Wii game entitled, Metroid: Other M. Some of us had heard rumors about a new adventure for Samus being announced at the show but the one thing I think nobody expected to hear was that the cherished franchise was being placed in the hands of Team Ninja.
A full 3D adventure, Metroid: Other M promises to go deeper into the story of everybody’s favorite power-armored bounty hunter. It looks absolutely stunning visually — as one might expect with Team Ninja at the helm — and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. I don’t traditionally go in for the 3D Metroid titles but I’m going to have to seriously reconsider my stance on that if this winds up being as hot as it looks.
Currently, the title is planned to have a 2010 release.
