[Update: Turns out that THQ sold the rights to EA for an “undisclosed cash payment,” which is of more immediate use to the ailing publisher.]
In what is soon to be huge news for UFC fans, EA and UFC president Dana White have just announced an official partnership to bring UFC games under the EA banner in a multi-year deal. If you know anything about Dana White’s notoriously big mouth, you’ll remember that he consistently jabbed at EA, even going so far as saying he’s “at war.”
Well, it seems as if time (and most likely money) heals old wounds, as THQ looks to be out of the picture going forward. Dana seems excited to bring the UFC franchise into the “half a billion fans in homes worldwide.” Overall, White said it best: “This is a huge day for the UFC.”
