Our earlier coverage of Halo 4 focused on the game’s single-player campaign, which looks to be a step in the right direction and especially worth getting pumped up for if you are a long-time fan of the franchise.
Today, however, we have three separate videos which are all centered around the multiplayer component of Halo 4. The first, shown above, covers “Infinity.” This will serve as the hub for your personal Spartan-IV, in addition to the game’s competitive and co-op modes.
Spartan Ops
Next up is “Spartan Ops,” Halo 4‘s method for more directly blending the campaign with multiplayer. These missions will extend the story and are going to be delivered in weekly installments. Better yet, you can opt to play them by yourself (or with three others) and they won’t cost anything extra to download.
War Games
Lastly, there’s the competitive multiplayer modes, dubbed “War Games.” 343 Industries will have ten maps at launch; beyond that, this should all be fairly self-explanatory. To my untrained eyes, the footage merely looks like more of the same with a few tweaks, though I do feel the new shotgun deserves a special mention. I need that thing, badly.
