EA and Marvel no longer BFFs, dissolve relationship Posted 28 January 2008 by Nick Chester Recommended VideosIf the super hero fighting action in the above video looks like your cup of tea, too freakin’ bad. GameTap is reporting that Electronic Arts and Marvel have “jointly agreed to discontinue development of the Marvel titles under the EA Games Label.” This news isn’t too surprising, revealed not long after EA sent everyone who worked at EA Chicago packing. (The studio was working on the Marvel fighting title seen above.) While there was no indication that the EA/Marvel partnership (which previously gave sloppy birth to Marvel: Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects) would dissolve as a result, the EA Chicago Marvel fighting title had long been rumored to be in jeopardy. It was recently revealed that former EA Chicago general manager Kudo “Is it dark in here or is it just me?” Tsunoda has hopped over to Microsoft. We’ll likely never know if Tsuoda’s exit had any influence on the decision to dissolve the agreement, and we’re left only being able to dream what it feels like to throw Spider-Man through a brick wall. Sometimes, life isn’t fair. About The Author Nick Chester More Stories by Nick Chester Filed under... #Comics#Electronic Arts
