When it comes to EA FC 24 formations, it’s important to choose the meta if being competitive is an important part of your enjoyment.
The choices have never been more bountiful, as EA Sports added three new options last year, and all of them have their respective strengths and weaknesses. All formations and their effectiveness will also depend on your playstyle and skills. But it’s a well-known fact that certain sets of tactics are outright better, and they operate more efficiently than the rest.
EA FC 24 formations tier list: Best to worst
I have used a five-point system to grade each formation based on how they operate on the meta. While the tier lists can slightly change based on how you want to play, the ones belonging to the S and A tier are always going to be better when used in the intended fashion.
EA FC 24 formations: S-tier
The S-tier formations are the meta of this game – it’s very hard to fail once you get used to them. If you’re a beginner, it will be important to adjust to the tempo of these formations and use the right players.

EA FC 24 formations: A-tier
While these formations are pretty close to the entries on the S-tier, they have some shortcomings. You’ll also need to make some tweaks with custom tactics to make these formations more effective.

It’s very hard to master the EA FC 24 formations mentioned in this tier. Chances are that you’ll likely struggle in competitive modes even if you’re a highly-skilled gamer.

If you’re playing the offline modes like Career, the options to tweak a formation are a lot more. Ultimate Team, which is the most competitive of all modes, doesn’t allow you to change the shape of a formation. However, the addition of custom tactics leads to more personalization, catering to one’s strengths and weaknesses.
