EA: You haven’t seen the last of The Godfather engine

It looks like the game engine that powered The Godfather still has a bit more life left in it. According to one industry analyst, EA has planned on using the engine in at least five upcoming projects, including a follow up to The Godfather game released  this past March. Out of the mouth of babes analyst Tod Greenwald:

“We learned that EA is leveraging the significant amount of development time and costs that went into The Godfather game,” commented Greenwald.

“The open-world engine was built from the ground up for The Godfather, and is now being used by five different franchises, including The Simpsons.

Not to be outdone by ficticious mobsters who are still trying to hold on to past glory, Homer Simpson was quick to point out that the code will also be empowering his very own movie tie-in, which is clearly more closely based on actual events then the preceding example.

Little in terms of specifics are known at this time, other than the fact that EA is trying to recover some of its development costs from the previous game. Expect those who refuse to acknowledge The Simpsons’ great contribution to society (by not buying the game) to wake up with a horse head in their beds. You have been warned.
