Fixes many other issues too, such as the wonky native controller support
It was only a few days ago when I mentioned that a difficulty adjustment update to Mega Man Unlimited was on its way. Version 1.1.0 is now available, bringing along a whole host of changes.
The biggest and most welcome addition is the new Easy mode. Like in Mega Man 10, safety blocks now cover many bottomless pits and spike traps, but that’s not all. Enemies deal less damage, an extra checkpoint has been added to all the castle stages at the 2/3 mark, and speed hazards like Rainbow Man’s lasers and Trinitro Man’s nitroglycerin platforms have been delayed. And speaking of Rainbow Man’s lasers, they won’t kill you instantly if you have sufficient health.
Further tweaks, which are applied to all difficulty modes, include slight stage layout changes, a checkpoint immediately after Rainbow Man’s mini-boss, the ability to skip cutscenes and enemy intro sequences with the press of any button, and an exit function to instantly leave a previously completed level. Most significant are checkpoints just before the boss rooms in the castle stages so you don’t have to replay large portions over again, as well as a fix for the native controller support so that it no longer has that “sticking” issue I complained about in my review.
This update is only for the PC build for now — the Mac build was ported by a third party after all. Hopefully, this should address most players’ concerns. And if you are feeling saucy enough to try the new super hard Insta-kill mode, please share your wonderful experience with the group.
