Edge of Space trailer shows rocket shark, tanooki-squid

And a polar bear with a cannon on its back

If there are two things I love, they are Terraria, and outer space. So naturally, I have been waiting impatiently for every bit of news about Starbound. However, it seems that Handyman Studios may be beating Chucklefish to the punch with their Steam Greenlight title, Edge of Space.

The trailer above shows off a few things that Terraria fans should already be familiar with, including exploration, building, and combat against wacky creatures. Some additions to the formula include pets, mechs, and of course, different worlds with distinct biomes.

To be honest, something about the art style doesn’t sit quite right with me. It may be that the styles for the foreground and the background are too dissimilar, or it may be that the character sprites seem too large. Regardless, I’m still interested to check this out.

Edge of Space is currently in beta, and can be pre-purchased now on Desura for access to the beta, at a discounted price of $9.99. If you’d like to see it on Steam, you can vote for it on its Greenlight page.
