It’s also coming to Xbox and PC Game Pass
Action RPG prequel Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising has a release date, and it’s just around the corner. The Eiyuden Chronicle adventures will begin on May 10 when Rising launches for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC.
Created in collaboration between Rabbit & Bear Studios, NatsumeAtari, and 505 Games, Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is a prequel and companion game to the upcoming Suikoden successor Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Rather than a big party-building RPG, Rising is a side-scrolling action RPG with town-building elements.
The story follows the adventurer CJ, who teams up with the mercenary Garoo and young mayor Isha to rebuild a town after calamity and search for a Rune Lens. According to Rabbit & Bear studios, the story of Rising will set out the inciting events for Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes‘ massive adventure.
Heroes on the rise
The action RPG is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic, and GOG. Alongside all those platforms, it will also be a day-one Game Pass game, on both PC and Xbox Game Pass. If you’re not getting it through that, Rising will run $14.99.
We got a chance to check out the opening hours of Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising last month, and I found it to be surprisingly chill. It has a pleasant mix of town life and building, alongside venturing out into the field and fighting for new materials. The characters and writing were especially fun, too.
The Suikoden successor is still a ways off, with 2023 as its current target window. For those who can’t just wait a year, though, Rising will let players get to know the world and some of its characters. Plus, special equipment and foods will carry over from Rising into Hundred Heroes.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising will set the stage for global adventure on May 10.
