FromSoft’s latest goes Gold
It’s almost here. It’s been a really fevered wait, but we are just a few weeks away from the launch of FromSoftware’s epic fantasy adventure Elden Ring — During a presentation held at the Taipei Games Show 2022, it was confirmed for the highly anticipated release has finally Gone Gold.
The announcement was made by FromSoft producer Yasuhiro Kitao, bringing an end to years of intense design and development. The 45-minute presentation, (which you can check out below), features plenty of discussion about Elden Ring‘s development, mechanics, and difficulty — with Kitao noting that the team did not want the game to be “stressful” but that it would retain the typical FromSoft challenge.
Asked about game length, Kitao estimates an average playthrough to be around 30 hours, with “dozens more hours” awaiting those who wish to fully explore the stunning but dangerous realm of The Lands Between. We also get to see plenty of footage of Elden Ring in action, including land traversal, combat, and even some skill trees and in-game menus. With the release bearing down on us, you might be good to remain dark for the time, but for those who want just a little more hype, check out the presentation.
Elden Ring launches February 25 on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox platforms. Watch out for that bear.
