Elder Scrolls Online Gold for 40% off on release day

Golden price mistake discovered?

Save green if you’re going gold. Today Bethesda launched its new The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition for $59.99 which includes the base TESO game plus its four DLC expansions. The game also popped up at GMG today for $49.99, which is probably a price mistake as the list price should be $59.99.

Even better, GMG is offering a 20% savings for those who login or create an account. That cuts the price a further ten bucks to $39.99. With the $10 off list price difference + $10 discount, you’re getting 40% on the Gold Edition’s release day.

How long this deal will last is anyone’s guess. GMG could correct the list price any moment, or it could last all weekend. The key is directly via Bethesda and will need to be activated on your ESO account.

For those not familiar with the Gold Edition of TESO, it’s probably worth getting if you’re interested in the now fee-free MMO, this packs in the Standard Edition of the game plus the 4 DLC expansions: Imperial City, Orsinium, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood.

If you don’t have the Gold Edition, you either get those DLC expansions by being a paid ESO Plus member or by buying each outright – with cost anywhere between 2,000 and 3,000 Crowns a pop. Crowns are an in-game currency you need to pay real money for. Buying 3,000 Crowns will cost you $25 and get you just enough for one expansion. Makes the $40 price tag for Gold Edition solid… if you want the entire expansion that is.
