Enter the Gungeon is a title I’ve been keeping an eye on. Any game that name checks Binding of Isaac and Nuclear Throne is going to pique my interest, but Gungeon has enough of its own style to step out of the shadow of its inspirations and stand on its own. While Isaac is a stomach turning black comedy, and Nuclear Throne alternates between absurdity and melancholy, Gungeon is just… goofy.
In a good way.
Gotta respect a game that knows what it’s about. The music from Doseone doesn’t hurt either. Jed should have a review for Gungeon up sometime this week and we’ll see how it stacks up against its inspirations.
