ESWC ’07: Shaky-cam Crysis footage

Recommended Videos

The sky is blue. 2 + 2 = 4.  Life in natural state is solitary, poor, nastry, brutish, and short. Every man has a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Crysis looks amazing. These things we hold to be self-evident truths. Crysis was actually going to be included in the Declaration of Independence, but then Jefferson changed his mind. How short-sighted of him.

In order to get a better idea of what Crysis will look like when it finally hits shelves on September 11, check out the above shaky-cam footage that I managed to grab before some greasy cooz told me not to.

Anyway, we don’t see much that we haven’t seen before — the physics (thanks to the CryENGINE 2) are beefy and the attention to detail, textures, and shading (thanks to gypsy tears) are stunning. The level we got to see seems oddly similar to the one that Fronz saw at CES, except without the bugs this time

I doubt that this footage is from the final build, but Crysis is certainly playable and looks ready to go. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to get my grubby paws on it. Apparently, in French, “playable demo” means “watch somebody else play the demo.” Unfortunately, still no word on neither specs, nor public demos or betas.

So, are your interests rekindled? Or is this just another (not) high-end PC FPS that you’re not going to play?

[Huge thanks to the good Reverend for help with the video]
