Took them long enough to announce it!
Well, it finally happened. The Chinese Room and Sony have, at last, officially confirmed that the (now former) PS4 exclusive Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture will be heading to PC.
In an email sent to Destructoid, The Chinese Room says it sent a completed PC build to Sony a few weeks ago, but Sony has yet to confirm any sort of launch window. If the port’s already completed, though, I can’t imagine a release being too far off now.
This news shouldn’t exactly come as a surprise, as the PC port’s existence has been unofficially known for quite a while now. First, it popped up in the Steam database a few times, and then only a few days ago it was included in the patch notes for the most recent AMD graphics drivers.
Even if the leaks may have dampened the surprise somewhat, I’m still stupidly excited to both replay Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture on PC, and see how a whole new audience takes to it. While Steven wasn’t blown away by it, I considered it my top game of the year last year for its compelling story and fantastic scenery.
If you have any interest in stunningly beautiful narrative-based games, Rapture is definitely one to check out. Plus it runs on the CryEngine, which means it’ll probably look even better on a high-end PC!
