“Enter at your own peril, past the bolted door, where impossible things may happen that the world’s never seen before.” Dexter’s Laboratory was such a fantastic show, and I’m not just saying that because it taught me how to spell the word “laboratory” as a kid (but I appreciate that too, Genndy Tartakovsky).
Dexter’s Lab is one of those cartoons with countless memorable lines, gags, and story beats that can just come to you out of nowhere. I couldn’t give you a favorite episode. No way. Attempting to do so would put me on the fast-track to a full-series marathon. Maybe one day, but not now. It’s far too nice outside. Instead, I’ll gleefully enjoy this Dreams creation from a player by the name of culosoman.
I smiled the whole way through. They even went to the trouble of modeling Robo-Dexo 2000.
I would’ve been impressed with just the player-controlled Dexter puppet, so this goes above and beyond. The Dreams community consistently blows me away, whether it’s wholly original concepts or tributes to pop culture. There are so many cool things to thumbs-up every time I browse.
As random as a Dexter’s Laboratory level might seem, I’m hopeful stuff like this will help the game reach folks who otherwise might not actively look for a video game about creative expression. It exists!
