Fallout 3 Collector’s Edition will make you hot and will force you to reserve it

If Tiff’s recent preview didn’t get you out to your local game shop to reserve Fallout 3, maybe this will. GameStop is listing a pretty packed “Collector’s Edition” of the game, which is said to come with:

– Vault Boy Bobblehead: Enjoy your very own Vault Boy with this collector’s item direct from Vault-Tec.

– The Art of Fallout 3: This hardcover book features nearly 100 pages of never-before seen concept art and commentary from Bethesda Game Studios artists.

– The Making of Fallout 3: Get an exclusive, inside look at Bethesda Game Studios and the team behind the game with this special DVD.

– Vault-Tec Lunch Box: The entire package comes in a fully customized metal lunchbox.

All of this comes at $69.99 price point for PC, and $79.99 on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Bethesda, it seems, knows how to do a collector’s edition right — when Oblivion launched for the PC and Xbox 360, the collector’s edition came with some pretty slick extras, including a replica coin, a world map, a sizable “pocket guide,” and more.

When I went to Bethesda last year to get our first glimpse of Fallout 3, they gave us the Vault-Tec Lunch Box and Vault Boy Bobblehead, and believe me, it’s definitely worth the extra $10. If history repeats itself, these collector’s editions will be hard to come by once they’re released; even if you’re adamant when it comes to not reserving games (you’re too cool, you’re too cheap, you hate GameStop), you might want to give it some serious thought.
