Far Cry 3 gets new difficulty mode and outpost respawns

“Worse than malaria”

In comparison to previous games, Far Cry 3 was fairly easy on the highest difficulty. Ubisoft is planning to change this with the addition of a new Master difficulty and a menu option that will reset all conquered outposts.

Master difficulty (“Worse than malaria” reads the menu description) will challenge with “more aggressive wildlife, tougher pirates, and more deadly privateers.” Unfortunately, there aren’t many details on the new mode or when the patch containing it will arrive. As for the outpost reset, this new menu option will put all outposts back into the enemies’ hands. This binary approach is a disappointing solution, as a more natural ebb-and-flow of hostile takeover would be more interesting and appropriate for the narrative.

Multiplayer is receiving its own share of updates with improved feedback options, server options, and browser filters. No word on when this patch will arrive.
