Developer Giants Software has caused a surge in excitement in the Farming Simulator community by posting a teaser on Twitter for a video that will go live on June 25, 2024, on the subject of the future of farming simulation. Fans can barely contain themselves because they think it’s a hint at Farming Simulator 25.
On June 19, 2024, the official Farming Simulator Twitter account shared a cryptic post showing two Hex Codes and their respective colors. This teaser was followed up with a post for a YouTube video titled The Future of Farming Simulator, set to premiere on June 25, 2024. Needless to say, fans are incredibly excited that this video could be a reveal for the next game in the series.
Giants Software to reveal what the future of Farming Simulator is ahead of FarmCon 2024
In the wake of this teaser and video posting, fans have wasted no time speculating about it. The Farming Simulator subreddit is alive, with fans hoping that this will be the reveal of a new game in the series, Farming Simulator 25.
Reading through the comments on this post, it’s apparent that fans have grown tired of the endless stream of DLC for Farming Simulator 22 and 23. The last entry that had a physical release on PC and console was Farming Simulator 22 in 2021, and the game is quite dated at this point.
User _Barrtek_ explains it all with their comment. “I hope they announce something interesting… some features and news, I don’t want a new DLC.” In terms of the systems and mechanics you get to play with and the range of farming vehicles now on offer, it’s top-of-the-line, but fans want a meaningful upgrade instead of even more vehicle bloat to pack their barns with.
It’s impossible to say whether this teaser is for a new game. What I do know is that those who play a Farming Simulator game and get sucked into the gameplay loop stay with the series for life. If a new game were to be announced, it’d likely be slated for a release later this year based on the release pattern of previous titles.
Farming Simulator may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but the series has amassed a huge fan base over the years. I live in a farming community, and it feels like I meet a new player at least once per week. The franchise’s annual physical event, FarmCon 2024, takes place from July 6 to 7, 2024, and fans are convinced that they’ll get more details about this announcement, be it Farming Simulator 25 or something else.
As a fan of Farming Simulator 22, I was crushed that Giants Software went down the route of a free-to-play mobile game with the next title. I’d like to see a new full release for all major platforms, and I’m certainly not alone in that.
