Now can we please get that adorable limited edition Vita?
Back in October, Marvelous Europe confirmed that Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star — a Musou-like game that’s based off of the ever-popular Fate franchise for both the PlayStation 4 and Vita — would be released in January in both Europe and Australia. Earlier that month, an announcement by XSEED Games (the publisher of Fate/EXTELLA in North America) stated that the game would be hitting U.S. store shelves sometime in in early 2017. Because of this, there was an implication that the game would be released in all territories within a similar timeframe.
According to a Tweet by Marvelous, Fate/EXTELLA will hit store shelves in both Europe and Australia on Janaury 20. At around the same time, XSEED Games confirmed that the game will be released in North America on the 17th of January; three days prior to its European launch date.
Have you heard the news? Fate/EXTELLA: THe Umbral Star will launch on 20th January within EU & Australia!https://t.co/b21dJ1ZnsH pic.twitter.com/QoJVAaT2RQ

To make matters somewhat perplexing, a listing on the Australian PlayStation Store claims that Fate/EXTELLA will be released on the 17th of January in that region, which corresponds with the North American launch date rather than that of Europe.
When I asked Marvelous’ Twitter account for clarification, I received a response that simply stated that the game should be coming out on the 20th in Australia, too. This means that as of the time of writing, the release date listed on the Australian PlayStation Store is erroneous. The publisher then went on to say that this date will be amended shortly.
@Nekromaniacal Should be listed as 20th January (as 17th January is the US release date).

Pre-ordering a digital copy of the game on PS4 will net you a “Shackled Bride Outfit” for the Servant Nero Claudius. As a bonus, this outfit will unlock for both the PS4 and Vita versions of the game, should you pre-order it on Sony’s home console. While you won’t be able to pre-order the game on the Vita, if you buy it within the first two weeks of release on the oft-neglected handheld, you’ll receive a bonus “Cold-Blooded Warden” outfit for Gilgamesh. Like the “Shacked Bride Outfit,” this DLC costume will be available on both platforms after purchase. One thing that I’m not particularly fond of is that this essentially means that you’ll have to buy the game on both platforms in order to get your hands on both costumes.
Now I just hope that Sony will soon announce the availability of the excessively adorable Fate/EXTELLA-themed Vita in the West. A man can dream, I suppose.
