The journey to the top of the Queen’s Blood ranks starts in the Grasslands of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. And while you won’t find many card-sharks here, you should still knock out these bouts, to keep Cloud climbing towards the top of the QB world.
This is part of our coverage of every Queen’s Blood match in Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth. The mini-game is arguably the most extensive one in the game, containing a full quest line and over 100 cards to collect. For this guide, we’ll run down the potential opponents in the Grasslands region of the game.
There are three Queen’s Blood opponents in the Grasslands in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, ranging from Ranks 1 through 3. There are other matches you can play in this region for a specific side quest, which you should do to get its special card. But for the purposes of rising up the Queen’s Blood ranks, you only need to beat these three to move on.
Ned
Rank: 1
Location: Kalm
Reward: Card #013: Crystalline Crab
Strategy: Ned is, to put it blunt, a pushover. He’s very much a Rank 1 opponent, and you’ll probably steamroll him. His reward is fantastic, though – the Crystalline Crab is a great card to swap into your standard deck, ASAP.
Nene
Rank: 2
Location: Kalm
Reward: Card #012: Cactuar
Strategy: Once again, a fairly straightforward opponent. And again, a crucially good card to add to your deck. After walloping Nene and Mr. Cuddlesworth, you’ll get the Cactuar; a situational card as time goes on, but can be a real boon early.
Zahira
Rank: 3
Location: Kalm
Reward: Card #017: Screamer
Strategy: Zahira puts up the most fight of the three opponents in Kalm, after you’ve busted through her box wall. She seemed to want to grab spaces early, so make sure to plot out your advance carefully and aggressively. Your reward is Screamer, which is honestly a bit costly, even for its wide area of influence. Still, you nee to beat her to advance ranks, so we’ll take it.
After defeating all three Queen’s Blood opponents in the Grasslands, Cloud should be a Rank 2 player and attain the title of “Blood Peasant.” It’s a humble beginning, but we’ll have plenty more Queen’s Blood to play once we reach Junon and more beyond.
