As the Developers Panel came to an end, a mysterious green figure began to creep up onto the main stage of the Tokyo Fan Festival. After some to and fro with both Yoshi and Toshi, followed by a slightly awkward hug from FFXIV’s Director, he indicated for Yoshi to remove his head. To the surprise of the audience, both within the Arena and at home, the person in the costume was none other than Sakaguchi himself. As it turns out, the creator of Final Fantasy had flown in for this very special occasion.

As he went to leave the stage, it became clear that Sakaguchi’s field of vision was drastically narrowed by the head of the Kappa Costume. When trying to take a step down from the stage, he took a tumble and ended up flat on his back.

Don’t worry, though, Yoshi P was there to offer his assistance and soon had Sakaguchi back on his very yellow feet.
