The next step into the Thirteenth nears
The next big update for Final Fantasy XIV post-Endwalker looms. Patch 6.4 for Final Fantasy XIV will arrive later this month on May 23, 2023.
News of the date, and more details, arrived today as part of a Live Letter. Which, you’d think given the one big game that’s taking the industry by storm right now, there might be some distractions. But surely that won’t impact the Live Letter in any way-
Ah, well then.
Anyways, for those taking a break from their own Zelda playtime, today’s Live Letter locked in all the details for Patch 6.4’s arrival later this month. The Main Story Quest, or MSQ update, arrives on May 23, while the Savage tier of the new Pandaemonium raid (Anabaseios) will hit a week later on May 30.
The Dark Throne
We’ve already seen a good chunk of what’s in store for Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.4, and 6.45, through the last Live Letter. As always, there will be an update to the MSQ, alongside a new Dungeon and Trial, and the next stage of the eight-player raid for the current expansion, Pandaemonium.
Tataru’s Grand Endeavor will continue, and this time, you’ll need to finish the Sorrows of Werlyt quest line. It’s a very good quest series, and given how many people I saw looking at my guide for picking up the glam from the previous Endeavor quest, you’ll want to knock out the prerequisites soon.
More is expected to arrive in 6.4 and 6.41, including fairy glam for Scholars and a new Ocean Fishing route into Kugane and the Ruby Sea, for fishing enthusiasts. Then, 6.45 adds a hefty amount of potential content later on, with a new Variant / Criterion Dungeon, a big update to Blue Mage, and the continuation of Hildibrand and the Mandeville relic weapons.
So even if you’re playing a lot of Zelda now, there’s still plenty of Final Fantasy XIV in store for the end of the month. And that might just be able to carry you over to the June launch of Final Fantasy XVI.
