There aren’t any competitors
Electronic Arts saw its competitor pull in for a pitstop, and decided to kick everything into high gear. With DriveClub, Sony’s first party racing game, getting delayed until 2014, EA and Ghost Games are rushing Need for Speed Rivals to market in time for the launch of the new consoles.
On November 15, Rivals will release alongside the PlayStation 4, both at retail and via direct download on PlayStation Network. This effectively pushes the street date up by a full week to accommodate the PS4’s launch. Likewise, the Xbox One version will still be available on November 22.
Need for Speed Rivals will be the only racing game on PS4 this year, so fans can take solace in the fact that it’s coming a few days early. Xbox One owners will have a bit more competition to choose from, as Forza 5 looks to be one the system’s strongest launch titles.
