Well, no VIDEOgames
The Xbox One finally has a release date and it finally has advertisements, this one strategically placed in line with the start of the NFL season. While brother to Eli Manning and hit commercial star Peyton Manning was putting up videogame-like numbers in a rout of the Baltimore Nevermores, videogames were nowhere to be found in the Xbox One’s first advertisement. It was “TV, TV, TV, sports,” without even the Call of Duty bone (or the Call of Duty dog chewing on it).
It’s not like they were second string, spelling tired defensive linemen on long drives of no huddle offense. The Microsoft One’s cut them from the roster, probably with the intention of resigning them for later advertisements that aren’t flexing the muscles of the $400 million NFL partnership Microsoft entered.
Still, it seems like a bit of a waste. Among the huge audience watching, I think plenty individuals are interested in videogames. “Hey, people already watching football somehow, you can watch football on this $500 thing instead,” seems like a weird sell, too.
What do you think about the Ravens’ embarrassing defense?
