I hate everything about this
If you know anyone that owns a smart phone, there’s a good chance that they’re currently infatuated and infuriated with Flappy Bird, the mobile game that’s taking the world by storm. Despite being a shameless clone with terribly imprecise mechanics (scathing commentary!), it’s doing pretty well for itself. Unsurprisingly, that success directly translates to totally useful real world dollars.
According to an interview that Dong Nguyen, the game’s creator, did with The Verge, Flappy Bird pulls in about $50k per day in ad revenue. That will happen when your game’s been downloaded more than 50 million times. All in all, that’s some solid cash for something that was coded in a few nights’ worth of spare time.
Of course, Destructoid’s also reporting on the flappy bird that absolutely deserves your attention.
