Foo Fighters’ The Colour and the Shape hitting Rock Band next week

MTV Games and Harmonix are making good on their album downloadable content promise, with next week’s Rock Band update being the Foo Fighters’ 1997 album, The Colour and the Shape

It’ll run you $19.99 (or 1600 MS Points) for all of the tracks, or $1.99 (160 MS Points) per song. The 11 tracks that join “Everlong” (already available on the Rock Band 2 disc) to complete the album are:

“Doll,” “Monkey Wrench, “Hey, Johnny Park!,” “My Poor Brain,” “Wind Up,” “Up In Arms,” “My Hero,” “See You,” “Enough Space,” “February Stars,” “Walking After You,” and “New Way Home.”

While it’s tough for my American brain to process the use of the letter “u” in the word “color,” that won’t stop me from picking this up next week. I’m not sold that all of the songs will make great Rock Band tunes (“Doll” is a good song, but may be “boring” to play), it’s a great album nonetheless.

On a side note, I heard a great rumor that while recording this record, Dave Grohl snuck into the studio late at night and re-recorded all of drummer Taylor Hawkins’ tracks. I can’t confirm that, but the thought of perfectionist Grohl donning a ninja costume and sneaking into the studio to pound on the skins has always made me laugh.
