The latest announcement from Hudson Entertainment’s media event is Pool Revolution: Cue Sports. It’s a tight little pool game designed specifically for WiiWare that will allow users to play competitively online and offline. This isn’t your mommy’s pool game, either (even though your mommy will probably want to play it), as Hudson has implemented landmark realistic controls as well as several game modes to discover and play.
As you would guess, the usage of the Wii remote is key to winning the game. Depth and strength of shots will be based on movements with the remote, but for those excessively casual players out there buttons can be used to perform the shot as well.
Anything pool-related will be incorporated into this offering. Hudson is packing eight ball, nine ball, rotation and snooker all into the same download. If you want to get crazy, you can even design your own trick shots in the game’s Puzzle Mode. Just don’t break your arm, TV, or your grandmother’s face when trying to get enough power behind the shot.

The Only Pool Game For WiiWare That Lets Users Play Online
REDWOOD CITY, CA – November 11, 2008 – Hudson Entertainment, the North
American publishing arm of HUDSON SOFT, today announced that Pool
Revolution: Cue Sports will be coming to WiiWare. This fun and
accessible pool game can be played against friends in the living room
or online, so players no longer need to worry about having enough
space for a pool table!
“Pool Revolution: Cue Sports gives WiiWare fans what they want,” said
Sabine Duvall, Vice President of Product Development at Hudson
Entertainment. “Pool is a recreational activity everybody wants to
play together, not alone, so we’re positive players will be happy with
the offline and online modes we included for up to four players.”
Pool Revolution: Cue Sports features realistic controls where gamers
use the Wii RemoteT just like an actual cue. The strength of the shot
depends on how fast the player moves the remote. For those not quite
ready to use an “actual” pool cue, the strength of the shot can be set
by using the buttons on the controller.
Players can choose from the most popular types of pool for up to four
players, including eight ball, nine ball, rotation, and snooker. An
in-game explanation will help provide descriptions of anything you
need to know! Once gamers get the hang of it, they can also try
performing trick shots in Puzzle Mode. For players really up for a
challenge, they can even set up their own! And, for those who feel
they are true pool sharks, there is online play for up to four players
in a Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection matchup.
Pool Revolution: Cue Sports is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.
