It has been made explicitly clear by now that no one is off the table when it comes to making a cameo in Fortnite. I mean, after we’ve seen Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, and the characters from Jujutsu Kaisen in the same battle arena, literally anyone could show up next.
But, are our imaginations strong enough to conceptualize the infiniteness that could be Fortnite in 2024? I could come up with feasible suggestions all day and night, and still not even come close to what Epic Games has up their sleeve in the coming year. But, that isn’t going to stop me from trying, at least.
So, from singers and influencers to anime and movie characters, who would we like to see drop on the Fortnite island in 2024? Let’s break it down!
Who should collab with Fortnite in 2024?
10. Nintendo
OK, so, let me preface this by saying I know there is no universe where Nintendo, one of the most — if not the most — IP-protective company out there, would team-up with Epic Games to put a real gun in Mario’s gloved hands. Does that stop me from wanting it to happen anyway? Absolutely not.
9. Hololive Myth
I specifically call out Hololive Myth here not just because they’re the only sub-section of the pro v-tuber community I know of, but also because it’d be neat to see Calliope Mori or Takanashi Kiara dropping at Tilted Towers or Lucky Landing. I would argue this is a collab that I can actually see coming if for no other reason than the models are already complete (theoretically)!
Also, something tells me Mori’s music would be incorporated into the gameplay loop, and I’d love that.
8. LOONA (or other K-Pop rep)
I would not claim to be the most loyal k-pop fan — in all honesty, I only know like 4 songs. I think back to 2020, when an Animal Crossing: New Horizon meme set to LOONA’s “Hi High” exploded like wildfire. But, I am not prepared to die on the ‘haha I like memes’ hill, so I would be open to negotiation. If we wanted to really shake things up, can you imagine Fortnite crossing over with BIGBANG, TAEYEON, or BTS? I can hear the crowds begging for more already. Let’s do a K-pop concert in Fortnite!
7. Persona
To be perfectly honest, I am very surprised Persona hasn’t crossed over with Fortnite already. If you think about it, it’s kind of perfect. I can see Makoto Yuki (P3), Yu Narukami (P4), or Ren Amamiya (P5) going head-to-head across the Fortnite island. And, with Persona having a resurgence with the release of Persona 5: Tactica and Persona 3: Reload, the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
If anyone in charge at ATLUS or SEGA happens to be reading this, I would like to make one challenge: Acknowledge Persona, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. I don’t even care if it’s in the form of alternate costumes or something. But admit they exist, and then remake them.
6. Kingdom Hearts
Sora is in Super Smash Bros. Next stop: the Fortnite Island. I can only imagine the unhinged delight that would come from playing as Goofy and using a sniper rifle to pick off entire teams from the Tilted Towers clock tower. Like with Nintendo, I know this is not very likely, but a man can dream.
5. MoistCr1TiKaL
In terms of totally random, chaotic picks, what about MoistCr1TiKaL? I mean, we’ve already had other influencers / content creators such as Mr. Beast, Khaby Lame, and Ninja collab with Fortnite, so why not?
Also, of all the biggest content creators today, I would make the argument that MoistCr1TiKaL is one of the most recognizable in his class. I still remember when people were saying that he’d cameoed in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet when, in reality, that was just a character with long hair and a beard.
4. Jack Black
In a world where massive, AAA games are hiring recognizable stars — think Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba in Cyberpunk 2077, or Nicolas Cage in Dead by Daylight — there’s no reason Jack Black has to be cast to the side. He was the villain in one of the biggest movies of 2023 (Bowser in The Super Mario Bros. Movie) and he has a long, illustrious career as an actor and musician behind him to boot!
3. Mega Ran or MC Frontalot
I admit, this is an extremely personal pick for me because nerdcore hip-hop is one of my favorite genres — period — and seeing Mega Ran, MC Frontalot, or Schaffer the Darklord tapped for a collab in one of the biggest games out right now would be absolutely fantastic.
In the words of Frontalot himself — nerdcore could rise up, it could get elevated. And, seeing one of the biggest stars in the genre dropping on the Fortnite island would probably make me cry from happiness.
2. One Piece
We’ve already had Fortnite collabs with anime like Jujutsu Kaisen, Naruto, and Attack on Titan, but not one of the GOATs: One Piece. It’d be especially possible given how past anime collabs have given players the ability to pull off the most iconic abilities, like Deku’s Smash in the My Hero Academia collab.
In a potential One Piece crossover, players could pull off some of the most recognizable moves, such as the Gum Gum Gatling, or maybe there could be an item that’d let players use three-sword style like Zoro, or Diable Jambe like Sanji. If they wanted, they could even employ a temporary power-up and let players fly around the Fortnite island as Gear 5 Luffy, manipulating the ground and making everything rubbery!
1. Five Nights at Freddy’s
I am well aware this isn’t going to be a popular pick. Five Nights at Freddy’s has a sordid history in both its reality and in ours. The lore is an absolute mess and always has been; the only reason we know even half of what’s going on in this franchise is thanks to a pair of YouTubers (Markiplier and MatPat) who have carried the franchise up the most steep mountains until now.
But now, we can’t deny it’s one of the biggest movies of 2023, and playing Fortnite as Freddy Fazbear or any of his animatronic pals would be hilariously fun. I think, if this collab were announced, I would have no choice but to spend actual, real money on V-bucks. I simply couldn’t miss out on this collab.
