Hallelujah it’s raining mech
For some time now, Fortnite players have been making there ill-thoughts heard about the game’s recent addition of mechs. Once discovered on the map, the “B.R.U.T.E.” armours can be piloted by one or two players, affording them immense firepower and maneuverability options, which some players see as disruptive to the overall Fortnite experience.
Well, it appears the nightmare may be over, as reports are coming in that mechs have started falling from the skies and self-destructing on contact with the ground. While there’s no official word that this is the end of the road for all-metal massacres, there at least appears to be a lore reason for the B.R.U.T.E’s sudden destruction: It seems that Season X character “The Visitor” has been fiddling with the B.R.U.T.E. software, resulting in a virus that is causing the mechs to explode.
Whether this is the last we’ll see of the mechs in the long run remains to be seen, as Season X approaches its endgame, who knows what the future holds? But for now, at any rate, Fortnite players can return to battle without having to worry too much about opponents flying the unfriendly skies.
Fortnite is available now on PS4, PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
