I like where this is going
One of the more frustrating aspects of Steam Greenlight is its approval system, which gives games the go-ahead far too infrequently given the sheer amount of quality software vying for attention. Seemingly addressing this issue, Valve has approved four more titles today: Edge of Space, Papers, Please, Venetica, and Substance Designer 3.
Based on the announcement post, this smaller, more agile process will likely become the norm. “These titles were selected on the same criteria we have been using in the past: Votes in Greenlight give us a hugely valuable point of data in gauging community interest along with external factors such as press reviews, crowd-funding successes, performance on other platforms, and awards and contests to help form a more complete picture of community interest in each title.”
I hope there’s more where this came from. The new approach also has the benefit of making it easier to look into and then follow greenlit titles when there aren’t 15 of them being shown to us all at once. Nice to see Papers, Please get such recognition.
