More objectives to complete and breakable objects to mishandle
Since its release in January, Octodad: Dadliest Catch has sold over 250,000 copies, according to developer Young Horses. The awkward octopus-in-dad’s-clothing simulator is a lot of fun for those who take the time to really learn how to control it, and it looks like we will be seeing more content for the game, at no extra charge. Ah, the wonderful world of indie gaming.
Young Horses says that it had too many ideas to fit neatly into the release version of Octodad: Dadliest Catch, but the studio still wants to explore those ideas through downloadable scenarios. Two of these “Shorts” will be released in a few weeks as a title update. They are meant to be “stand-alone Octodad levels which are self-contained stories.”
One screenshot from each level has been released. The first shows Octodad and Scarlet on their first date in a fancy restaurant, while the second involves Tommy and Stacy imagining their dad as a character in a television medical drama. Hopefully things do not get quite as messy as Surgeon Simulator 2013, but with Octodad manning the scalpels, it probably will not end well.
