Character pack also available for $0.99
Rayman Jungle Run is what a mobile adaptation of a console platformer ought to be. Instead of a straight port shoehorned onto Apple and Android devices, it’s a standalone title that merely complements the original, with touch controls that make sense. It’s criminal that there aren’t more developers like Jungle Run‘s Pastagames who “get” it.
A new update appeared a couple of days ago, which I held off on checking out because I thought it was just general bug fixing. Turns out the update adds a new world to the game, bumping the level count from 40 to 50. Each of the previous four worlds introduced a new skill to Rayman’s repertoire, and though this fifth one doesn’t offer any new abilities, it tests what you already know to your limits. Just getting through a stage may not be all that tough, but collecting all the Lums is.
Also included in the update is a character pack, which includes the blue lummox Globox and two new skins for Rayman. Unfortunately, this bit isn’t free, but the price tag of $0.99 isn’t really anything to worry about.
I’m serious about Rayman Jungle Run, guys. If you haven’t grabbed it yet, download it for $2.99 from the App Store or Google Play.
