Free-to-play MOBA title Rise of Immortals is out now

The Multiplayer Online Battle Arena market just got a little more competitive with the full release of Rise of Immortals from Petroglyph Games. With League of Legends and Heroes of Newerth already established — and Valve’s Dota 2 expected to take a big chunk of the market — it will need some tricks to stand out from the crowd.

One of the big draws Rise of Immortals is offering is persistent character progression. The level cap will affect what artifacts and talents are available to your character, all the way up to Level 50. The other big selling point is socialization hubs, which sound like MMO social areas where you can meet and greet your team and talk tactics with buddies. The game is launching with 12 characters but there’s the promise of plenty more, with three mystery characters teased on the official site.

This free-to-play title is available for download right now, so there’s plenty of reasons to give it a try. If that’s not enough, why not enter the competition that Petroglyph is running where you can win a full 3D support kit including a monitor, graphics card and 3D glasses. Best sign up quick, as the competition ends today to coincide with the launch of the game.

Is persistent character development something you want in your MOBA game?
