‘Fresh’ new Darksiders game teased for E3 2019

Developer panel set for June 13

Love it or groan at it, there’s no stopping Darksiders now. The hashtag-inducing demonic action series has found a steady enough following to sustain itself, and another game is officially on the way. Last year brought us the arguably better-than-expected Darksiders III. This year? Well, we’ll see and soon.

In just under two weeks, Geoff Keighley’s E3 Coliseum will host a live-streamed discussion with the developers about where Darksiders is “headed next.” That panel, Darksiders: Action Adventure Evolved, promises to show off “a brand new Darksiders game that takes the franchise in a fresh direction.”

You can find the full listing for the upcoming chat on the E3 Coliseum site. The 30-minute Darksiders panel will take place on Thursday, June 13 starting at 10:30am Pacific. That’s E3 Day Three, otherwise known as the day I absolutely cannot forget to pop an Aleve in the morning before heading out.

I’m not completely convinced it’s Strife‘s turn on the main stage just yet. Some Darksiders fans have speculated that we might see something fresh out of Airship Syndicate the former Vigil Games folks who brought us Battle Chasers: Nightwar based on the studio’s coy new Twitter banner.

What are you hoping to see at E3 for this series? Actually, what are you hoping not to see? (A generic mobile Darksiders game goes without saying.) It’s unclear how much of a “fresh direction” this will end up being, but that wording makes me think that we might be in for a potential style swap here.

You can catch the Darksiders panel live on June 13 or find the archived footage on Keighley’s YouTube channel after the fact. That’s assuming leaks don’t get the better of it. Always a possibility.
