Game with the Puntoid Community!
So our own Chris “I Swear I’m Not A Terminator” Carter (Watch your neuronet processor having ass, deathbot) feels the new Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 Beta is promising. I have to agree with him. It’s definitely not a husk of the first game, as many feared. It felt really good playing the beta last night. As I stalked around the battlefield, collecting coins and unlocking stuff, I was having a blast. It was great to see ole Crazy Dave again too. The graphics pop so much more on current gen systems, and the gameplay feels a bit tighter. The card packs don’t seem to be seedy microtransaction grabs, as the coin cost appears quite attainable through normal play. For instance, I was able to buy one of the high cost packs after a few hours of play.
All in all, I am very pleased to have my worry of EA making this shuck, proven wrong. The first game laid the groundwork for what I hoped and dreamed would become a franchise, and it seems my corny dreams are coming true. Good thing too, as my voice was getting husky from yelling at EA so much the past few years.
Now I know the New Year is all about turning over a new leaf, but I say we set that aside tonight. Let’s put on our mics so we can ear each other, and then get to killing (each other).

The planning for FNF used to start in the forums, where community members signed up to host matches and post their pertinent details (game, time, Gamertag, etc.). Now, every Monday, posts go up in the community blogs where you sign up and it’s all kept up thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers. I then recap it all here on Friday, on the front page to give it a bit more exposure.
To join in, simply send a friend request to the match host! If you’d rather host something yourself, sound off in the comments section below!
