Despite the official game being delisted and soon to be shut down, fans are rebuilding it as Friday the 13th: Resurrected, a free-to-play modded build.
Fans are creating their own version of Friday the 13th: The Game. The asymmetrical horror game that’s already been delisted from every major online marketplace is getting a fan remake from those who loved the game and had a slightly different vision for it. Friday the 13th: Resurrected is a modded build of the original game that’s free-to-play and includes a plethora of additional content for those who also loved the licensed horror title.
When is the release date reveal event for Friday the 13th: Resurrected?
The release date reveal event for Friday the 13th: Resurrected takes place on April 15, 2024. Only the date has been outlined so far, but we should have a time closer to the date and we will add it to this section of the article as soon as we see it.
To ensure you don’t miss the event, I recommend you visit the game’s official YouTube channel and subscribe so you’re alerted to any new videos. I reckon the reveal event will either be a livestream on YouTube or a pre-recorded video that premieres on the day, so it’s well worth having this channel open on the day to stay up to date with everything that’s happening.
When is the release date for Friday the 13th: Resurrected?
At the time of writing, we don’t know the release date for Friday the 13th: Resurrected. We’re still waiting for the reveal event so we can see when we’ll finally be able to get our hands on the game. As soon as the release date has been published, we’ll add it to this section of the article. In the meantime, if you’re interested, put the reveal event above in your diaries so you don’t miss it.
What platforms will Friday the 13th: Resurrected be available on?
At the time of writing, all I know is that Friday the 13th: Resurrected will be available on PC. The game is a modded build of the original title, meaning it could even be PC-exclusive. I don’t see how the developer could have acquired the rights for the game while the title it’s based on is still live until the end of 2024.
It’s possible that we’ll receive news on this during the release date reveal event. After all, the reason the first game is shutting down is due to license expiry, which is also why Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle was shut down, so there could be something we don’t know that links the two behind-the-scenes and will mean this fan reboot will flourish.
Will Friday the 13th: Resurrected have new skins?
Yes, there will be new skins in Friday the 13th: Resurrected. The developer has been showing a few of these on social media, including a frozen Jason skin inspired by one of my favorite bad horror movies, Jason X.
When the game is finally released, there will undoubtedly be more we’re not aware of. I’d expect some of them to be kept a secret until launch day so horror fan buffs can get a real kick out of the cosmetics on show. These are all the new skins in Friday the 13th: Resurrected that have been revealed so far.
- Never Hike Alone Tommy Jarvis Skin
- J8 Toxic Waste Kin
- Tommy Jarvis Hunter Skin
- Frozen Pre Uber Jason Skin
- Jason Sackhead Skin
