Mech mayhem comes a’clankin’ onto new platforms
If you fancy jumping into a giant robot and causing some heavy metal madness, then Forever Entertainment has some news for you — Front Mission 1st: Remake will launch on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox platforms June 30, following on from its November 2022 Nintendo Switch release.
Front Mission 1st: Remake is a revamped edition of the Japan-only PS1 release, Front Mission 1st, which was itself a remake of the 1995 Super Famicom release, Front Mission. Set in the year 2090, the narrative concerns a brutal conflict between the Oceania Cooperative Union (O.C.U.) and the Unified Continental States (U.C.S.) — a conflict fought with devastating mech units known as “Wanzers”. Lol.
Players engage in strategic combat across an increasingly desolate wasteland, battling it out with their comrades in a dramatic, story-driven tale that encourages the player to approach the conflict from both sides of the curtain. The two plots intertwine in order to ask and answer each other’s questions. The new remake includes a new localization, a reorchestrated soundtrack, and various tweaks and rebalances to the game’s modes and mechanics. Front Mission 1st: Remake launches on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox platforms on June 30, priced at around $35 USD. A 10% discount is available until July 12, and a demo is available now on PC.
