Ever since getting my iPod Touch, I’ve become a huge fan of Gameloft. The French studio specializes in bringing console-style games to downloadable handheld platforms such as iTunes, PSN and DSiWare. They’re a pretty rad company, so it’s great to see the work paying off.
Gameloft’s sales are up 7% during Q1, with the studio raking in €33 million (£28.8m/$43.6m) between January, February and March, as opposed to last year’s to €30.8 million (£26.9m/$40.7m). Europe was responsible for 37% of Gameloft’s revenue, with America making up 34% and the rest of the world accounting for 29%.
The company, which has had hits with games like N.O.V.A and Modern Combat, has more downloadable games planned for 2010, which is absolutely fine by me.
