gamescom: SimCity closed beta sign-ups are open

Beyond today’s news that Maxis is also putting SimCity out on Mac, there’s a new trailer that highlights the game’s SimCity World functionality and, better yet, we have information about an upcoming closed beta.

The World feature connects us would-be mayors together, meaning the atrocities committed in our cities won’t be kept on the down low. Throw in some friendly challenges, and it sounds like the kind of social aspect the broader SimCity-playing audience would appreciate; I’m not convinced quite yet.
